The Office of Student Affairs offers a peer tutoring program for students who are in need of, or interested in, additional academic support. Our free tutoring service is open to all JD and LLM students. Tutors are fellow students who have demonstrated academic excellence in a particular subject area. Tutoring takes place at mutually convenient times, usually 2-3 hours per week.
Due to the limited number of available tutors, students may request tutoring for a maximum of two courses. Moreover, because we rely on student volunteers to act as tutors, we are not able to assign everyone a tutor. Additionally, we cannot guarantee you will be matched with a tutor who had your professor.
In considering whether to request a tutor, it is highly advised that students first meet with the class teaching assistant (TA). While your TA cannot tutor you, they are often in the best position to provide practical guidance for your specific course and professor.
We also encourage you to speak with your professor about your specific needs and questions regarding the course material. Office hours can be a great source of academic support and avenue for feedback.
