Oct. 23: Volunteer Opportunity for FORGE 2023 Conference

As the Center for Human Rights and Global Justice gets ready for our upcoming FORGE 2023 conference (November 2-5, 2023), we are opening up opportunities for NYU Law students to support our planning efforts in various capacities and get access to all FORGE events.

In addition to Volker Türk, United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, we are thrilled to be joined by a phenomenal line up of speakers & performers, including:

  • Judge Hilary Charlesworth, International Court of Justice
  • Patricia Gualinga, International Relations Director for the Kichwa First People of Sarayaku
  • Maïmouna Jallow, Writer, Performer, Film & Theatre Director
  • Ivan Krastev, Board Chairman, Center for Liberal Strategies
  • Kevin A. Ormsby, Dancer, Choreographer and Artistic Director of KasheDance
  • Ricken Patel, Human Rights Activist
  • Jonathan Rowson, Co-Founder & CEO of Perspectiva
  • Ayisha Siddiqa, Youth Climate Advisor to United Nations Secretary General
  • Kathryn Sikkink, Ryan Family Professor of Human Rights Policy, Harvard Kennedy School
  • Siva Thambisetty, Associate Professor of Law, London School of Economics
  • Chris Walker, Director of the Division of the Arts at University of Wisconsin Madison

Volunteers will:

  • be provided access to all FORGE 2023 events
  • be provided food and refreshments during their service hours
  • be acknowledged in the program for their support
  • be provided upon request with a letter confirming their volunteer dates and duties
Selection Process:
  • Volunteer selection depends on various variables including availability, skills, and needs.
  • CHRGJ FORGE planning team will reach out via email upon review of your application
  • Planning meeting for all volunteers will take place once volunteers are selected
