Entrepreneurship & Venture Capital Program at NYU Law: How to Identify a Startup Idea?
The Entrepreneurship and Venture Capital (EVC) Program at NYU Law (formerly the NYU Law Venture Fund), in partnership with the NYU Law Social Enterprise & Startup Law Group, is excited to host a session on how you can identify a startup idea. This is meant to a primer on how to come up with a business idea and share strategies on where to go from that point. We’re thrilled to welcome Sofia Viel (Head of Product) and Gonzalo Amuchástegui Mayoral (Co-Founder) from Amalgama, experts in design, methodology, and software development to share best practices with us. Speakers:
 
Sofia Viel: Sofia is currently Head of Product at Amalgama. She joined the company 3 years ago as a Product Owner, working with clients in the development of their ideas, and leading the research and development team working with those clients. Now, in her current role, she is also guiding product owners across Amalgama in creating successful businesses & products for our clients, and innovating on how we can add more value to them.

Sofia is an Industrial Engineer based in Buenos Aires, Argentina. She previously worked on Oil & Gas industry (ExxonMobil Exploration Argentina) giving support to the Logistics & Safety teams, and in the Food Industry (Molinos Rio de la Plata) as part
of the Supply Chain team coordinating the production programs for one of the business units.

Gonzalo Amuchástegui Mayoral: Gonzalo is one of the co-founders of Amalgama, a Digital Agency that builds, launches, and grows digital products. He started the company 10 years ago and has been developing many areas of the company since then.
 
His primary expertise and contribution is in methodology and therefore has been involved in the evolution of the structure towards an agile company. He is currently Agile Mentor and Business developer of one of the verticals focused on building products for S&M businesses.
 
Gonzalo has a business degree and also is an ontological coach. He describes himself as an entrepreneur and intrapreneur, and in his spare time, he likes playing tennis, golf and spending time with his family.
