Judge Jeffrey Crabtree of the Hawai’i Circuit Court will hold a talk with students who are interested in judicial clerkships and environmental law.
Interested in environmental law, where it’s going, and what a career in environmental law might look like? Come meet Judge Jeffrey P. Crabtree (NYU Law ’79), the Senior Environmental Court Judge for Honolulu, Hawaii. Hawaii is the 2nd state (after Vermont) to establish a separate Environmental Court. Hawaii’s version has original and exclusive jurisdiction over many county and state-wide environmental issues. Climate change, sea level rise, cultural impacts and protection, the legal rights of future generations, endangered species, alternative energy, river water rights, air and ocean pollution, sustainability, state vs. federal enforcement, macro vs micro impacts, and more.
