Apr. 15: 2024 Dean Acheson Legal Stage Program Deadline

The United States Embassy in Luxembourg is accepting applications for the Dean Acheson Legal Stage (traineeship/apprenticeship) Program at the Court of Justice of the European Union for fall 2024 and spring 2025.  Placements are available with a Judge of the Court of Justice, an Advocate General of the Court of Justice, or a Judge of the General Court.  These ~90-day, unpaid internships are open to American citizens and legal permanent residents of the United States who have completed three years of law school; French language skills are desirable, as well as other  language skills and a background in specific aspects of law, depending on the stage. How to Apply

NYU Law graduating students and recent alums who are interested in applying should submit a CV or resume, a copy of their NYU Law transcript and transcripts from prior university studies, and the completed Application Form – Dean Acheson Legal Scholar Program to pilc.info@nyu.edu no later than Monday, April 15 at 11:59PM EST.  

 

NYU Law can nominate up to three applicants for the 2024-2025 program. After initial screening, NYU Law will forward via email a maximum of three (3) endorsed applications to the U.S. Embassy in Luxembourg by April 24, 2024.

 

Financial Assistance

If selected, trainees will receive $7,000 in support of the apprenticeship. The financial support is awarded on a need-blind basis. Please note: Expenses related to the placement, including airfare, housing, insurance, etc., may exceed the amount provided by the stipend.
