Fall 2022 Deadline for Exam Postponement/Accommodation Requests

Posted on

The deadline to request exam postponements or accommodations is Friday, November 11th. Please submit your request via ExamReporter, our online exam request system. To submit a request, click on “Postponements” and in the section titled “Request Postponement” select the class for which you seek an exam postponement. Then select the type or reason for the requested postponement (for example: “Two Exams in One Day,” “Moses Approved Accommodation,” “Morning/Evening”). Finally, click on the “Submit” button.

You will need to submit a separate request for each applicable exam.

Results of requests submitted by the deadline will be available in ExamReporter on Monday, November 28th at 5:00 pm. Results of requests submitted after the deadline will be available on a rolling basis after November 28th. To see the status of your request, click on the “Report” tab in ExamReporter.

The detailed guidelines for postponement of examinations may be found online in the Law School’s Academic Policies Guide, but here are a few things to note:

Disabilities—If you already have approval for an exam-applicable Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) accommodation through the Moses Center for Student Accessibility, please submit a request to implement your accommodation in ExamReporter as mentioned above. All students yet to receive approval from the Moses Center for an exam-related accommodation must immediately register with the Moses Center for Student Accessibility. The Moses Center is located at 726 Broadway, 2nd floor, and their team can be reached by phone at (212) 998-4980. ExamReporter requests for ADA accommodations cannot be granted until they are first approved by the Moses Center.

Visit Academic Accommodations & Accessibility Support for more information on Moses-approved accommodations.

Illness—Should you become ill during the exam period, any adjustments or postponements would need to be approved by the Office of Student Affairs.

To maintain your anonymity in the grading process, do not contact your faculty member if you have problems related to an exam, including those related to illness, ADA accommodation, or postponement. Instead, should you have any difficulties or extenuating circumstances involving your exam, please notify the Office of Academic Services with a detailed explanation of your circumstances.

Thank you,
NYU Law Exam Team
