On February 19, 2015, The Intercept reported that in 2010-2011 the American and British spy agencies had hacked the world’s largest manufacturer of SIM cards and stolen encryption keys, potentially allowing intelligence agencies to “monitor mobile communications without seeking or receiving approval from telecom companies and foreign governments”.…
