I have been in Shanghai for almost two months now.  While I am busy with my classes (including Chinese!), I have been able to explore Shanghai and some surrounding areas.

We took a group cooking class where we learned to make classic Chinese dishes like dumplings, spring rolls, noodles, and stir-fry vegetables–all from scratch! The food was delicious.

DSC00965Shanghai has so much to see, like famous shopping road Nanjing Lu and Yu Garden (full of Chinese New Year decorations). I traveled to nearby Nanjing to see Sun Yat-Sen’s mausoleum and to Zhujiajiao, an ancient watertown that is called Shanghai’s Venice.

Time is flying by, and I am eager to continue to explore Shanghai and the neighboring areas.  There is so much to see, it is never boring.
