Prior to law school I worked as an eighth grade math teaching in the Bronx as part of the Teach For America Program. This summer I’m thrilled to be working as a summer law clerk for the NYC Department of Education. The experience continues to strengthen my passion for educational equity.

When I first arrived at NYU Law, I attended Law Women’s 1L Mixer. I was curious about the organization that represents 47% of the NYU Law student body. Little did I know how central this group would become to my law school experience.

During spring break, I traveled to Hong Kong with NYU Law’s international arbitration team to participate in the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot. Our team won third place for Claimant’s Memorandum.

I was thrilled that I had completed my first year of law school, but true to my Teach For America roots, I reflected on ways I could improve the experience. I decided I wanted to better manage my stress. I have been hooked on Bikram Yoga Manhattan ever since.

I would describe myself as one of those rare law school nerds who enjoys every class, but this semester I am particularly captivated by Constitutional Law taught by Professor Derrick Bell.
