NYU Know Your Rights Project – Applications for Student Leaders

Posted on

The NYU Immigrant Defense Initiative (IDI) and the Office of Global Services (OGS) are partnering to create the NYU Know Your Rights Project, providing Know Your Rights presentations on-campus and in the community. The on-campus presentations will be in the form of a series and will address issues that affect students and staff across NYU. The community component will be in partnership with Black Alliance for Just Immigration (BAJI) and will focus mostly on rights during encounters with law enforcement, including ICE. These presentations will take place in community spaces, including schools and churches, throughout New York City.

IDI and OGS are seeking NYU students to participate in the project as Student Leaders. After initial training, Student Leaders will work in teams of 2-3 and will be expected to conduct at least one on-campus presentation and one community presentation over the course of the academic year.

To learn more about the Project and requirements for participating, please see our flyer. The deadline for submitting an application is midnight on Thursday, October 5, 2017. To apply, visit: http://tinyurl.com/nyukyrproject
