Thinking about becoming a public defender?  Join Miami Dade Public Defender, Carlos Martinez, and Executive Chief Assistant for Recruitment and Litigation, Teresa Enriquez, for an informative discussion about how to approach this career path, as well as opportunities available to students and recent graduates in the Miami Dade County Public Defender’s Office.  Elected in 2008, Public Defender Carlos Martinez is the first Cuban-American Public Defender and the only elected Hispanic Public Defender in the U.S.  He manages a vibrant and collaborative office staffed by approximately 200 mission-driven attorneys committed to ensuring equal justice for approximately 75,000 indigent people facing the loss of liberty each year.  With its nationally recognized training program, Miami is an outstanding office for student interns and new attorneys.
