Business Transactions Clinic open to 2Ls and 3Ls next year; applications due Thursday

Posted on

Beginning in the 2020-21 academic year, the Business Transactions Clinic will be open not only to 3Ls but also to 2Ls for the first time.

Under faculty supervision, clinic students provide free business and transactional legal services to nonprofit organizations, social enterprises, and under-resourced entrepreneurs and small businesses that operate in areas of concern to the public. The most common projects entail commercial contracts, corporate governance, employment, and startup finance.

The clinic is directed by Naveen Thomas, who also teaches Contract Drafting. The seminar covers some of that course’s subject matter as well as other lawyering skills and substantive law related to the clinic’s representations and to transactional practices more generally.

For more details, please visit law.nyu.edu/btc. The clinic application period is open now and continues until 5:00 PM on April 16th. For instructions, please visit law.nyu.edu/academics/clinics/applications.

Feel free to contact Prof. Thomas at naveen.thomas@nyu.edu with any questions.
