Applications will be accepted from Friday June 8th through Friday, June 19th.
You may apply to more than faculty member. Their profiles can be found here:https://www.law.nyu.edu/academics/lawyeringprogram/facultyadministration
Please upload a new application for each faculty member to whom you are applying. Each application should include the cover form which you download from the link on the landing page, a cover letter, resume, and writing sample.
We have three new faculty members joining us this year: Colleen Campbell, Britta Redwood, and Faraz Sanei. We also have one faculty member returning from leave: Rachael Liebert. Their official bios will be available on the law school website on June 1st.
Lawyering TAs receive one credit per semester and should be able to attend a minimum of 1/3 of the classes.
Contact Krista Minteer-Baysal at firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions.
Graduate Lawyering Program
You may also apply to be a TA for the Graduate Lawyering Program. There are some notable differences between the Graduate Program and Lawyering: 1) our LLMs are lawyers in their home country and many have already practiced; 2) English is not their first language, and the range of ability varies; 3) the Graduate Lawyering course focuses more narrowly on legal research, writing, and analysis; and 4) our LLMs are from all over the world. Being a TA for Graduate Lawyering is a great opportunity to get to know them and to help them.
In 2020-21, Graduate Lawyering courses will likely be offered in the fall, spring, and summer. The course has one- and two-credit sections; most sections carry one credit and meet for two hours every other week. TAs work closely with faculty in a collegial atmosphere. Under faculty supervision, TAs review students’ written work and provide feedback. TAs also meet with students needing extra help with their writing. Depending on TAs’ interests, TAs sometimes teach part of a lesson or organize social events for the class.
To apply, please send your resume, transcript, and a writing sample to Anna Gall, Graduate Lawyering Administrative Assistant, at email@example.com. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Irene Ayers, Director of the Graduate Lawyering Program, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
