The Graduate Lawyering Program in conjunction with the Office of Graduate Affairs is seeking Teaching Assistants (TAs) for the August 2021 Introduction to US Law/US Legal Practice courses. This is a paid position. If you are a current LLM student and are interested in this opportunity, please send your resume and a copy of your transcript to Elisabeth Farmer by Friday, April 9th.
Our August Introduction to US Law/US Legal Practice (Intro.) courses will be held August 16 – August 27, 2021; on most days, the class meets for four hours and ten minutes, with short breaks.
Teaching Assistants attend class every day. Duties include assisting faculty with course preparation, researching legal questions, and responding to students who seek assistance with the courses. TAs also advise students on course selection, how to make the most of the LLM year, and general matters relating to life in NYC. During Intro., TAs are given the option of presenting in-class workshops on Bluebooking or exam preparation, or leading a discussion of the research exercise.
In addition to supporting the Graduate Lawyering faculty, TAs will assist the Office of Graduate Affairs with events during Intro. and Orientation on August 30 and 31.
We are preparing for the August 2021 Intro. courses to be fully in person, or close to it. The COVID-19 pandemic is an ongoing concern, and, along with the rest of the law school, the Graduate Lawyering Program and Office of Graduate Affairs will continue to prioritize the safety of the NYU Law community as we plan for the arrival of our new LLM students in August. Teaching Assistants will be notified right away of any updates to those plans.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Professor Irene Ayers, Director of the Graduate Lawyering Program.
