The Office of Global Programs is pleased to announce that the online application to NYU Law Abroad and Exchange Programs for Academic Year 2019-2020 will open on Wednesday, January 16 and run through Sunday, February 10, 2019 at midnight.
To kick off the application cycle, Global Programs will host a panel event entitled Global Law Skills in Nationalist Times: Studying Here and Abroad with Vice Dean Benedict Kingsbury and faculty experts on Wednesday, January 16 from 12:45-2:00 PM in Greenberg Lounge, Vanderbilt Hall. The panel will examine the implications for global law, in areas from human rights and securities law to commercial transactions and arbitration, of current intergovernmental tensions and nationalist push back against globalization. It will also feature discussion of curriculum choices to best equip NYU Law students to engage with these issues, including JD outbound programs in Shanghai, Paris and Buenos Aires.
All 1Ls and 2Ls interested in opportunities to study abroad are encouraged to attend. Lunch and beverages will be served. RSVP here.
Walk-in Advising Hours with Global Programs will also be offered on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons in January and February, from 2:00-4:00 PM in Furman Hall, Suite 340.
To apply for Spring 2020 Law Abroad and Fall 2019/Spring 2020 Exchanges, candidates will be required to register an account and log in through the NYU Law Graduate Application online system under “Office of Global Programs.” The online application form is the same for both NYU Law Abroad and Exchange Programs. Students will have the opportunity to apply for both types of programs in the same application. If applying for more than one program, applicants will be asked to rank selections and complete a separate plan of study for each program.
