Call for Students: 2022–2023 Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition

Posted on

The NYU Law Jessup team is recruiting coaches and team members for this year’s competition.

The Jessup is the world’s largest moot court competition focusing on topics within public international law, with over 600 law schools participating worldwide. The NYU team has previously finished in the top 8 worldwide, while picking up a number of individual awards along the way. We are hoping to continue this success at this year’s virtual competition.

We are seeking dedicated JD (1L, 2L, 3L) or LLM students with a strong interest in international law. Please note that, in order for LLM students to be eligible to participate as team members, the student must not have, after having graduated from any type of law degree program, either (i) engaged in the practice of law, or (ii) engaged in any paid or unpaid activity (outside of degree studies) in the field of international law.

If you have had previous experience with Jessup and are interested in being a coach, please send your CV and a short statement of interest to nyujessup2019@gmail.com by September 9. The student coach will be hired as a Research Assistant, if eligible.

If you are interested in being a team member, please send your CV and a short statement of interest to nyujessup2019@gmail.com by September 13. An international law writing sample would also be helpful, though not mandatory.

Interviews will be held to assess both your motivation and your oral advocacy skills.

If you have any questions, please email nyujessup2019@gmail.com.

Travel expenses for this competition will be covered by the Guarini Institute and the Hauser Global Law School Program as per NYU’s travel policy.

Please see more information on International Moot Court Competitions.
