Second-year students with a demonstrated commitment to civil liberties and civil rights and strong skills are invited to apply for 2018-19 Fellowships in the Arthur Garfield Hays Civil Liberties Program. The Program provides 3L students with fellowship support as they complete two substantial placements with non-profit organizations engaged in impact litigation, policy work, or direct services related to civil liberties and civil rights. Specific areas of focus may include such topics as First Amendment freedoms (speech, press, free exercise, church-state), racial equality, immigrants’ rights, criminal justice, economic justice, reproductive and women’s rights, and LGBTQI rights. Materials describing the Program and the selection process are available on the NYU Hays website.
Applications must be submitted by Friday, February 16, 2018, noon, in a single PDF packet emailed to Gail Thomas at firstname.lastname@example.org. All applicants and all finalists will be interviewed. Thank you for your consideration.
