Since joining RGP in 1999 as the Company’s first corporate counsel, Kate Duchene has operated in numerous executive roles – Legal, Corporate Secretary, Human Resources, Marketing and RGP Legal. She is now the President and Chief Executive Officer of the firm.
Prior to joining RGP, Kate practiced law with O’Melveny & Myers LLP, in Los Angeles, California. She focused on litigation, specializing in defense-side labor and employment matters.
Kate received her J.D. from New York University School of Law where she actively participated in Moot Court. She received her B.A. in Political Science from Stanford University. She serves as president emeritus on the board of directors of Human Options, an organization dedicated to breaking the cycle of domestic violence. Kate also serves as Co-Chairman of the board of the California Minority Counsel Program. She is also a Trustee of the University of California, Irvine Foundation.
Between undergraduate studies and law school, Kate worked in New York City, first as a paralegal at an IP law firm and next as a grant reviewer at The Edna McConnell Clark Foundation. Her very first job was a paper route in Independence, Missouri.
Kate and her husband Tim have two children in college, and a spoiled dog named Cooper.
