Beginning at 1:30 pm on Friday, November 9, you will be able to submit bids for Spring 2019 Cycle #2. This is an opportunity for you to make changes to your spring 2019 schedule. This bidding cycle will end on Wednesday, November 28 at 9:30 am. Results for Spring 2019 Cycle #2 will be available on Friday, November 30 at 1:30 pm. Please refer to the Registration Calendar (http://www.law.nyu.edu/recordsandregistration/registrationcalendar) for additional important dates.
Courses that Close in Spring 2019 Cycle #2:
For your convenience, a list of closed classes and their clearing price will be posted on the Clearing Prices for Closed Classes web page.
If you have won a class that requires a co- or pre-requisite and you are not signed up for the same, you will have until the end of Spring 2019 Cycle #2—November 28 at 9:30 am—to bid for and win the requisite course. On November 30, pre- and co-requisites will be checked for courses won to date. Students will be dropped from classes that do not have the required pre- or co-requisite(s).
Carrying Over Bids to the Next Cycle
The bids from Spring 2019 Cycle #1 will not carry over to Spring 2019 Cycle #2. However, beginning with Spring 2019 Cycle #2, primary and alternate bids which are not won will carry over to the next registration cycle.
Course Updates and Course Descriptions:
All changes in the curriculum will and have been posted on the web site. Remember to regularly check the Course Updates webpage for updated course information such as new courses, canceled courses, corrections to the schedule, as well as to review requirements, dates, deadlines, final examination information, etc. For example, the deadline to apply for Lawyers as Leaders: The Corporate General Counsel Seminar has been extended to November 23, 2018. Also, the preliminary Spring 2019 Stern Preferential Courses are available to bid on.
Please check the course description pages for information on exams, writing credit options, and how to apply for permission for courses that require permission of the professor.
Option A Writing Credit – Students must self-register:
If you are eligible to register for an Option A writing credit, you should bid zero points to add this writing credit to your schedule. Students must be registered for the related seminar in order to register for the Option A writing credit. If you exercised the priority option during Spring 2019 Cycle #1, this does not enroll you in the Option A writing credit. You must separately add this writing credit.
Option B Writing Credit:
Students electing Option B writing credit do not have to register for this option.
Registering for Teaching Assistant and Research Assistant Credits:
The Office of Records and Registration will register students for Teaching Assistant and Research Assistant credits based on information submitted by your professor.
Faculty Permission Only Classes:
Please follow the information stated in the course description regarding enrollment in permission of instructor courses. The professor will provide the Office of Records and Registration with a list of permitted students or the student may submit a permission of instructor form. At that time, a waiver will be entered on your COURSES record and the Office of Records and Registration will notify you that you are able to register for the class. You are responsible for bidding zero points on the class, effectively registering yourself.
Students are advised to review the exam information found both in the course descriptions and on the Exam Information and Schedules web page. Please review the exam schedule and consider your studies and work conflicts; students may not request an exam postponement for heavy course loads or work conflicts.
We strongly encourage students to make registration changes well before the deadline and during business hours to ensure that someone is available to assist you if encounter technical difficulties. If you require such assistance, please contact your program office.
