Posted on

The Rose Sheinberg Committee, NYU Law’s project on cutting edge issues of gender, race, and class, is excited to host writer, organizer, and feminist poverty lawyer Dean Spade to present our 29th Annual Lecture. In this lecture, Spade offers a reflection of his decades-long work in abolition that has led him to believe that an anti-state approach is necessary to dismantle carceral infrastructure and US militarism. Spade will be introduced by Nicole Smith Futrell, CUNY Law professor and author of The Practice and Pedagogy of Carceral Abolition in a Criminal Defense Clinic.
