Nancy Marks

Nancy S. Marks, adjunct professor of law, is a senior attorney at the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC), where she is part of a litigation team that brings suits against industrial polluters and government agencies and intervenes in lawsuits to defend government regulatory agency actions against industry attacks.  In recent years, she helped secure a cleanup of chromium contamination in Jersey City through settlement of RCRA imminent and substantial endangerment claims against PPG Industries, participated in a lawsuit overturning the EPA’s illegal registration of a pesticide that endangers bees, oversaw the study and remediation of mercury in a Virginia river following a RCRA action against DuPont, and helped sue the FDA for unreasonable delay in removing hazardous antibacterial soaps from the market.
