C. Boyden Gray

Adjunct Professor of Law C. Boyden Gray teaches the Energy, Environment and Security: Law and Policy seminar. He is the former Ambassador to the European Union (2006-2007) and former Special Envoy for Eurasian Energy Diplomacy (2008-2009). He also served as former Special Envoy for European Union Affairs (2008-2009) and as White House Counsel in the administration of President George H.W. Bush (1989-1993). He is currently practicing law in Washington D.C. (C. Boyden Gray and Associates), representing clients on a wide variety of U.S. and transnational energy, environmental antitrust, and other regulatory matters.

Prior to his appointment as Special Envoy, Gray served as U.S. Ambassador to the European Union in Brussels from 2006 to 2007.  From 1969 to 1981 and 1993 to 2005, Gray was a partner in the Wilmer, Cutler, Pickering, Hale and Dorr law firm in Washington.
