Litigating Civil Rights: Civil Rights As a Career

Tuesday, November 10th
11:00 AM - 12:00 PM (free lunch!)
Poe Room in Furman Hall

Five civil rights attorneys will be speaking about their law school experiences, careers, and civil
rights cases, with questions and networking to follow.

Panelists include:

- Sunu Chandy, U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission

- Alina Das (NYU '05), NYU Immigrant Rights Clinic

- Matthew Faiella, New York Civil Liberties Union

- Caryn Lederer, Special Litigation Unit, New York Legal Assistance Group

- Ben Wizner, American Civil Liberties Union

Collectively, these attorneys have experience litigating civil rights cases involving immigrant
rights; federal antidiscrimination law; disability; national security; lesbian, gay, bisexual and
transgender (LGBT) issues; police surveillance and other civil liberties; and constitutional law.

Please join us to hear about civil rights as a career, to network in preparation for the summer job
search, to meet other students interested in civil rights, and to enjoy free lunch!

Co-sponsored by CoLR and SALSA.
