Elder and Special Needs Law Journal Diversity Writing Competition

Description: The Elder Law section of the New York Bar Association is pleased to announce the, “Elder and Special Needs Law Journal Diversity Writing Competition,” for all students attending an accredited AVA law school within New York State and recent law graduates seeking employment.  Essays should cover any law or legal issue affecting seniors and/or persons with disabilities, with specific focus on historically underserved populations.  In addition, each author should include a short biography along with their article of about 500 words.  Authors also should include a photo of themselves as well as a copy of their most recent resume. Application Deadline: All entries for the Elder and Special Needs Law Journal Diversity Writing Competition must be postmarked by April 25, 2013.

1st Place Prize: $500

2nd Place Prize: $500

The winners will also be granted publication within the New York State Bar Association’s Elder and Special Needs Law Journal (ESNLJ). In addition, the winners will receive a complimentary one year membership in the New York State Elder Law Section for the winners.
