BLACKFISH – CNN Films Screening Q&A

Monday, October 21, 2013 | 6:30 PM – 10:00 PM 40 Washington Square South

Please join CNN Films, SALDF, and ALDF for a screening of BLACKFISH. BLACKFISH traces the 39-year history of killer whales in captivity leading up to a 2010 incident in which an experienced Sea World trainer was killed by the 12,000-pound orca, Tilikum. The film chillingly demonstrates that this incident of violence is hardly isolated, while exploring the extraordinary nature of orcas, thought to be one of the most intelligent species in the animal kingdom.

6:30pm Reception in Golding Lounge
7:30pm Screening in VH 210

Screening of the film will be followed by a Q&A with:

Gabriela Cowperthwaite – Director, BLACKFISH
Jenni James – Litigation Fellow, Animal Legal Defense Fund
Charmayne Palomba – NYU Student Animal Legal Defense Fund
