The HIV Testing Initiative at NYU provides progressive HIV screening services, education and advocacy at the largest private university in the country. The Initiative serves as an advocate for sexual health and HIV-related resources on campus, engaging the NYU community in an active dialogue on HIV/AIDS. While AIDS has become an increasingly manageable disease for the fortunate of the developed world, the stigma that is so often attached to HIV education, prevention, and testing has remained. This program combats that stigma; in moving HIV testing from the staid medical institution to familiar and accessible university spaces, they endorse a global movement towards normalization of HIV screening. Furthermore, the HIV Testing Initiative exemplifies a feasible and effective method to improve the health of the University community, while creating a national model of progressive HIV prevention at NYU.
Free HIV Testing and Women’s Health Consultations will be offered to all NYU School of Law students. Receive a free HIV oral test – no needles!
