Scholars at Risk Advocacy Internship

The Scholars at Risk Network (SAR) is an international network of universities, headquartered at NYU, dedicated to promoting academic freedom and defending the human rights of scholars and universities worldwide.

As part of SAR’s human rights advocacy, SAR is seeking two graduate students to staff efforts on behalf of missing, imprisoned and persecuted scholars. Interns will help manage SAR’s advocacy system; research, monitor and document violations and infringements upon academic freedom and human rights; and advise SAR staff and board on issues pertaining to advocacy. Each intern will be responsible for cases within a specific portfolio of countries/regions.

Preference will be given to law, human rights or international affairs graduate students. Interns can work on or off site. Fifteen hour per week commitment preferred.

Please apply by emailing a résumé and cover letter to scholarsatrisk@nyu.edu. If you have any questions please contact Clare Robinson at (212) 998-2179.
