Money for Nothing: Lederman/Milbank Fellowship in Law, Economics and Business—Invitation to the 1L Information Session
The NYU Center for Law, Economics and Organization administers the prestigious Lederman/Milbank Fellowship Program, funded by Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy LLP.
Fellows will receive an $8,000 stipend.
Fellows are required to write a paper in law and business or law and economics (broadly defined), to register for a colloquium related to law and economics, and to participate in a workshop series. The paper may also be used to satisfy NYU’s A-paper requirement and may be submitted to a journal.
Applications are due in February 2010.
We are holding an information session now because the application requires a paper proposal (among other things). Students interested in the fellowship will be better situated to submit a successful application if they plan for it in advance.
For example, it is helpful if prospective applicants enroll in either a course that has a paper-writing requirement or in one of the colloquia affiliated with the fellowship:
- Law and Economics
- Law, Economics and Politics
- Law, Economics and the Politics of Urban Affairs
- Law and Business
- Innovation Policy
- Tax Policy and Public Finance
To learn about the fellowship, you are invited to attend an information session to be held on Wednesday, April 22 from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. in Furman Hall, Room 214.
Professor Oren Bar-Gill, director of the Lederman/Milbank Fellowship Program, will present the fellowship program, provide information about the application process, and answer questions.
Refreshments will be served.
