HOW TO SUBSCRIBE

There are many ways that you can read or subscribe to the Docket’s announcements.

ON THIS SITE
You can simply come to this site and browse the announcements. All announcements are listed in reverse chronological order. Browse the categories in the sidebar or click on them above each announcement. Some announcements may be listed in more than one category. Some posts may also have ‘tags’ or specific keywords associated with that post. Click the tags to see other related announcements.

BY RSS FEED
By what? All announcements on this site are available by RSS, which stands for Really Simple Syndication. It means that instead of you needing to come to this site to read the announcements, you can choose to have the announcements come to you.

RSS via your browser

Some of the newer browsers are also set up to handle RSS feeds.

For Firefox users:
In Firefox, RSS feeds are called Live Bookmarks. When you click the orange RSS icon in your browser address window, you’ll be presented with a few options. You can either choose to add the Live Bookmarks to your Links Toolbar or Links Menu. You can also choose to add the feed to Outlook, Google Reader, MyYahoo or Bloglines.

For Internet Explorer 7 users:
When you click on the orange RSS icon you are shown a page with the Docket content along with ways to browse by categories or tags. You are also given an option to subscribe to the feed. Clicking this link adds the Docket feed to your Favorites area. Click the Feeds tab and the Docket item to view the RSS content. Newest content will be at the top.

RSS via News Reader
Using a tool called a ‘news reader’ you can read Docket announcements in the same format that you might read headlines from The New York Times, NPR, or Slate. A news reader pulls together content from across the web and keeps it all in one place so you don’t need to go from site to site to see what’s going on.

There are many, many newsreaders available. Some are programs that you download. Some are web sites like Google Reader, My Yahoo, and Bloglines. These services are free although you will need to set up an account.

To read the content via a newsreader, click the ‘Subscribe via RSS Newsreader’ link in the Links section of the sidebar. You’ll be taken to a page where you can select your preferred news reader.

Content via Email
Additionally, you can have the content delivered via email, via a few different options.

Enter your email to subscribe via FeedBlitz:

You can also create your own email delivery solutions with services like RSSFWD or FeedMailer.
