The Excellence Initiative was launched by the Chief Judge to promote operational and decisional excellence in the New York courts, with the initial focus being on court congestion and delays. The campaign is a means to restore public confidence for the rule of law and respect for those who administer justice, through a commitment to provide timely, affordable justice services and, above all, ensure judicial decision making that produces fair, effective and lasting outcomes for all litigants.
