Law Student Actors Needed
The Civil Rights Clinic is looking for law students to play the roles of plaintiff and defendant in a litigation simulation during September and October. The work involves learning the facts of the case, and then playing the part in interviews and in direct or cross-examination. Students will be paid $12 per hour for all time spent, including studying the roles. First-year students are encouraged to apply. Acting experience or talent is a plus but not a prerequisite. The simulation, a prisoners’ rights case, has two roles: the plaintiff, who is a prisoner, and the defendant, a former prison guard. The direct examination of the inmate and the cross-examination of the guard will take place sometime between late September and mid-October, at times to be arranged at your convenience.
Those who have played roles for us in the past have had a lot of fun and have learned quite a lot about trial practice. Join us!
Interested students should email Professor Claudia Angelos as soon as possible at angelos@juris.law.nyu.edu.
