I am working on a project that broadly explains how financial regulations may shift to accommodate cryptocurrency technologies. The article will both explain how the traditional intermediary-based regulatory model may be inadequate in a peer-to-peer world of decentralized financial services; and how the digitization of financial information enables cheap, scalable approaches to supervision of financial markets. Working on the project will require the student to learn and describe several disparate fields of financial regulation (e.g., securities regulation, banking regulation). A candidate interested in the regulation of financial markets is preferred and would learn significantly from participation. Please see CSM ID #456738 for application instructions.
